MileSplit Live can connect to FinishLynx through networked scoreboards to publish live results and clock information.

Important: FinishLynx integration changed significantly in MileSplit Live v1.0.81. If you previously configured MileSplit Live scoreboards using v1.0.80, update your existing setup using the instructions below.

With v1.0.81 and later, you no longer need to make changes to FinishLynx hidden settings for this integration.

You must have the Network Com Port plugin from FinishLynx to use networked scoreboards.

If you previously used MileSplit Live v1.0.80

Complete this section to update your existing FinishLynx scoreboard configuration.

If this is your first time setting up the integration, skip to Set up FinishLynx for the first time.

Download the updated scoreboard files

Download both MileSplit Live scoreboard files:

Selecting either link will automatically download the .lss file.

Copy both files into your Lynx folder.

Update the clock scoreboard

  1. Open FinishLynx.
  2. Open your MileSplit Live clock scoreboard settings.
  3. Confirm that the IP address matches the computer running MileSplit Live.
  4. Confirm that the clock port matches the port configured in MileSplit Live.

Update the results scoreboard

Open your MileSplit Live results scoreboard settings and confirm:

  • The IP address matches the computer running MileSplit Live.
  • The Results port matches the port configured in MileSplit Live.

After updating both scoreboards, continue to the meet-specific setup below.

Set up FinishLynx for the first time

Complete these steps once when setting up the FinishLynx integration on a computer.

Before you begin

Close FinishLynx.

If you previously configured FinishLynx scoreboards, delete any existing MileSplit Live scoreboards before closing FinishLynx.

Create the FinishLynx scoreboards

  1. Open MileSplitLive.exe.
  2. Log in with your MileSplit credentials.
  3. Find Quick Links.
  4. Select Create FinishLynx Scoreboard.
  5. In the pop-up window, select Browse.
  6. Navigate to the lynx.cfg file on your FinishLynx computer.
  7. Select lynx.cfg, then select OK.
  8. From the dropdown, select the local Ethernet IP address used by your timing network.
  9. Enter the ports you want to use.

The default ports are:

  • Results: 43550
  • Clock: 43551
  1. Select Create.
  2. Restart FinishLynx.

Select the correct IP address

When creating the scoreboards, use the IPv4 address for the Ethernet adapter connected to your FinishLynx timing network.

Do not select an IP address associated with another network adapter.

The IP address configured in FinishLynx must correspond to the computer running MileSplit Live.

Set up MileSplit Live before each meet

Complete these steps before publishing each meet.

  1. Open MileSplit Live on the computer used for live results.
  2. Log in.
  3. Select the correct meet.
  4. Select Begin Publishing.
  5. Allow the meet events to load.
  6. Open the Settings tab.
  7. Check the Scoreboard On/Off setting.

A green check mark next to Scoreboard On/Off indicates that the scoreboard is live.

Confirm the FinishLynx connection

When FinishLynx starts, review the connection status for:

  • Results
  • Clock

Confirm that both connections are active before competition begins.

Show more result rows

If you want the results scoreboard to display more than 300 rows, enable Paging in the applicable scoreboard settings and set Size to 300.

If FinishLynx does not connect to MileSplit Live

Check the following:

  • The Network Com Port plugin is installed.
  • MileSplit Live is running.
  • The correct meet is selected.
  • Begin Publishing has been selected.
  • The scoreboard is turned on in MileSplit Live.
  • FinishLynx and MileSplit Live use matching Results and Clock ports.
  • The FinishLynx scoreboard uses the correct IPv4 address.
  • The selected IPv4 address belongs to the Ethernet adapter used for the timing network.
  • Your computer's firewall is not blocking the configured scoreboard ports.

If you previously used v1.0.80, also confirm that the updated Clock and Results .lss files have been copied to your Lynx folder and that your scoreboard settings have been updated for v1.0.81.
