If an athlete’s seed time or mark appears incorrect during meet registration, first determine where the information is coming from and whether it can be updated.
Seed marks used for entry are set at the discretion of the meet host or timing provider. For postseason meets (such as District, Sectional, Regional, or State competitions), seed requirements are often determined by your state association. If you have concerns, review the information below before contacting the meet host.
Check the athlete’s MileSplit results
Start by confirming the performance on the athlete’s MileSplit profile.
Review:
- Athlete name
- Event
- Result or mark
- Meet where the performance occurred
- Date of the performance
Make sure you are viewing the correct athlete profile, especially if multiple athletes have similar names.
Check the registration entry
Return to the meet registration and review the seed time or mark listed for the athlete.
- If the registration allows edits, update the seed time or mark as needed.
- Review the change carefully before submitting the entry.
If the MileSplit result appears incorrect
If the issue comes from the athlete’s recorded performance, verify the original result.
When reporting a potential issue, include:
- Athlete name
- Athlete profile link
- Meet name and date where the performance occurred
- Event
- Result currently shown
- Correct result
- Link to official meet results (if available)
If you still cannot resolve the seed mark
If the seed mark cannot be corrected through the athlete profile or registration tools, contact the meet host or MileSplit Support.
Include:
- Meet name and registration link
- Athlete name and profile link
- Event
- Seed time or mark currently shown
- Expected seed time or mark
- Source of the performance
This information helps determine whether the issue is related to the athlete’s recorded result or the meet’s seed acceptance rules.
